Good article in the WSJ today, for those with subscriptions. China just posted its weakest GDP growth since the start of the worldwide financial crisis a decade ago. Analysts expected a slowdown, but it has come much faster than expected.
I will still contend, there is no possible way we can lose a trade war with China. They have far more to lose than us, and it's showing. In the face of the ongoing trade war, we are still posting better than average GDP growth (for us) and their growth is slowing. If the American people can withstand some higher prices for some things for a bit longer, we may end up crushing them in this fight.
