  • No DaJuan still on Saturday. He's doing a little running in the pool but that's about it. Needs to practice before he will be back in.

  • Nijel Pack is doing what Coach thought he would do at this point in his career. He says in high school he was elite. Says it doesn't always translate but it does with Nijel it does. Says if he wasn't here "we would be in trouble" then said "well, were still already in trouble."

  • Weber says there is no doubt they made big improvement. After the Baylor game with Nijel back they could gain continuity and got better and even without DJG still playing together and making things happen.

  • Said they were better on defense than he has seen in the past but that Texas just made some really tough shots.

  • Antonio Gordon has accepted his role and feels comfortable. He doesn't force things the last couple games. Says Tony also knows that no one is going to come in for him with DaJuan out so he doesn't feel the pressure to have to be great. Its the most consistent he's been all season.

  • Coach mentions he likes what he sees from Luke and fitting in the last few games on both ends. "I'm surprised, he's been pretty good defensively". Coach mentions these tough guards in the Big 12 don't make things any easier he's "been able to switch and stay in front of them." He's hit some threes here and there. The most important thing though is he has found his role and a way to fit in and help this team when having to make the transition in the thick of Big 12 play.

  • Coach says that Seryee and Carlton haven't been able to find time against all these teams that go small ball. Coach says that Seryee would be considered the 3rd '5' man. Says Carlton adds better offense but the defensive side of the ball he has a long way to go and Seryee can make up lack on knowledge with athleticism. Sounds like some things both still need to figure out. Coach says Seryee has great instinct. Says he might have to come in Saturday to help. Says he hasn't given up on them but they've gotten in to better rotation.

  • Second chance points and points off turnovers has been key for a lot of the Wildcats success. Said Antonio's rebounding has been a big factor and blocking out has been better. Says they are doing more offensively and defensively since two weeks ago.

  • If they want to continue this success they just have to stay consistent at doing everything and keeping this improvement steady. Use these experience of good games to keep building.

  • Coach doesn't know if it is possible to hold Cade Cunningham under 10 points again. Coach said K-State wasn't great that game by any stretch of the imagination but had moments where they did some good things.

  • There's no question in my mind the best games of the year were these last two against Tech and Texas, without DaJuan Gordon against arguably two top 10 teams in the country. I remember before and after the game with the Red Raiders, coach said something to the effect of that he begged and pleaded for them (in the most Weber way possible). So I asked him what his role has been behind the quick turnaround without one of their best players. He said that the coaches had them do drills before the Tech game that they should have done a long time ago, but didn't have the time because of all the interruptions with this season. So he took them back to some foundational drills and things they wanted to do at the very beginning when practice bodies were scarce. He finished saying that the guys responded and they have competed.
