According to termlimits.com, there are proposals in both the Senate (introduced by Ted Cruz of Texas) and House of Representatives (introduced by Ralph Norman of South Carolina) to implement congressional term limits. Each calls for limiting senators to two terms and representatives to three terms. If these proposals are ratified, terms that began before the ratification wouldn't count toward the limits. Each has to have the support of 3/4 of each house of Congress by December 2022. According to the same website, 82 percent of Americans support term limits, but any advancement on these amendments requires politicians being willing to place limits on themselves.
