I recently went on vacation and was socializing at and around the bar. Started talking to a sports journalist from Atlanta. He was saying how it was such a great year for Atlanta. We had some really good conversation on NIL, CFP expansion, and some recruiting.
My point to bring up is I started talking about KSU football. I asked if he knew who Deuce Vaughn was and he had no idea. Pretty much a consensus all American for all purpose players?? Didn’t ring a bell and he had no idea who he was.
I thought as a sports journalist he would have to know who deuce was considering accolades. I think everyone knows the SEC is king, but it was interesting how the big 12 is nothing to a journalist/rest of the country.
