I hate that Kam is injured and has to deal with this disappointment as I know he would want nothing more than to be out there with the guys playing these types of games. He's got a ton of skill. When he was injured, many (including myself) thought this would be the nail in the coffin for Bruce.
In steps Diarra. And as long as he can keep things up, when Kam is healed, I think Diarra should remain the starter. Diarra's confidence may be wreckless at times, but like any other athlete with such a confidence, when it pays off, it pays off. You kind of live with a few frustrating moments because at the end of the game he isn't going to sit back and just hope the offense can get a quality shot at the end of the shot clock. He is going to do what he's done the last few games, beat his man off the dribble and get to the hoop and at the very least draw a foul. Weber's teams are better when he has a confident guard that can create his own shot and get to the hoop.
Combine this with Brown, (whose game is more complete as a guard), and Wade (whose confidence is rising) and Sneed who can get any shot at any time and hold his own the defensive end, there's reason to have optimism about this team the rest of the season.
The depth falls sharply beyond the starting 5, so health is key and Weber's roster management during a game will be a factor in close games.
