If there is any player that I'm disappointed in so far this year, it's Diarra. To me there is one word that best describes his play, and that is "sloppy".
For a guard, he seems to have a lot of trouble with his dribble. He'll lose control of it when pressured (and sometimes not pressured). His loss of control doesn't always result in a turnover, but when it doesn't result in a turnover, it almost always disrupts the offense, at least for a moment.
I feel similarly about his passing. His passes are off target too often. Even when his errant passes don't result in a turnover, throwing at a guys feet with the receiver having to recover disrupts the offense.
This is not to say that Diarra is not talented and doesn't have a bright future, but I expected him to take a step forward this year, and if anything, I think he has regressed. I hope the sloppiness issue is temporary.
