Early in the 4th qtr, KU had 4th and 1. Stanley ran out to the sideline. When he dove out of bounds he was over 2 yards short of the stick. The ball was first to touch OoB past the 1st down stick. He was running toward the sideline and had to jump at an angle and still picked up an additional 2 1/2 yards. Barnes dove 5 yards to the pylon on his touchdown run. Several times a game players are running down the sidelines and get hit OoB. Why don't players dive OoB in those situations??? You avoid a hit from a player, a fumble wouldn't matter and you can pick up several more yards!!
