How do we avoid the Fat Phil Syndrome?
Folks at Tennessee couldn't wait for Phil Fulmer to leave. He coached UTn from 1992-2008, 16yrs.
The UTn fans got their wish. Since then, over the last 8yrs, the Vols have had 3 coaches.
So my question is, when Snyder departs what needs to happen to avoid UTn's fate?
I'm genuinely curious as to what our fan base thinks needs to happen to keep from catching this disease.

- Won a bunch of COY awards
- One NC
- Two Conf Champs
- 15 Bowl Games
The UTn fans got their wish. Since then, over the last 8yrs, the Vols have had 3 coaches.
- Their overall record is 52-48
- In the SEC they are 22-41.
- Won zero awards.
So my question is, when Snyder departs what needs to happen to avoid UTn's fate?
- Wholesale coaching changes?
- Keeping staff?
- Young head coach who can recruit but short on HC experience?
- More experienced HC who can run the show, let young coaches recruit?
- Any other ideas rattling around in your head.
