It may be a long wait. I'm hearing that he is no longer part of the team. The talk that he is really working hard couldn't be further from the truth. The word is that he has left the team on his own because the demands, both on the field on off, are more than he is willing to deal with. If this is the case, it probably tells the story of why a supposedly top level talent was at Juco to begin with. There are exceptions to every rule, see Jake Waters, but for the most part the top Juco kids have a problem with their work ethic and preparation to get onto the field, the time and effort required in the classroom, or with the aspect of behavior away from football (possibly all of the above).
The reality in football as well as basketball is that for every homerun you hit on a Juco kid you swing and miss on 2 or 3 others that you bring in. In most cases with the swing and miss kids, it has little to do with talent evaluation, it is simply a matter of not having what it takes to live up to the expectations and put in work. I'll say it again, aside from someone like Jake Waters, the majority of top level Juco kids went there for a reason and the reason is rarely a positive one. All that being the case, the job that our coach has done over the years with Juco heavy recruiting classes is nothing shot of amazing.
