Since Charlotte doesn't appear to be a strong test I thought we could talk about Vanderbilt.
They won there first season opener since 2011 against Middle Tennessee 28-7. Similar to UCA it sounds like MTSU stacked the box to force Vanderbilt's QB to win the game. According to game recaps the Commodore's had things well under control after the second quarter and coasted the rest of the game.
Vanderbilt plays Alabama A&M this coming weekend. Much like Charlotte Alabama A&M shouldn't be too much of a test, so both teams will likely be coming in pretty fresh.
If we play defense like we did opening weekend then we are going to lose this game because Vanderbilt's defense is a cut above UCA. They are a strong running team but with a third year QB they can toss the ball around a little bit to open up the rushing attack based on what I can gather.
EDIT: Massey has us as a 4 point favorite and 60% win percentage
Bill Connelly has us as a 2.5 point favorite and 56% win percentage
Looks like this game could be closer than we'd like based on game 1 #hottakes
