I am under the impression that this years BB team involved a lot of NIL resources. On paper it looked good but needless to say it hasn’t lived up to expectations. I have no idea what kind of contracts are involved (single or multi year). Whether performance is a factor. As far as I know, none of this is made public.
The players on the roster that are not in their final year may or may not stay but they certainly haven’t enhanced their NIL value I don’t think. One could argue that different coaching could make a difference.
To me a crucial question might be whether the NIL resources are willing to pony up another year? What have the coaches learned from this year that they can “sell” to the supporters?
I actually think that the cats are close to being a good team but are missing a couple of key pieces such as a lock down defender or a true point guard.
I still hope we have a stretch of good basketball this year.
