I am posting this here hoping some northern California Cat fans can offer some advice.
We are going to San Francisco for several days before the Stanford football game and were planning to ride the Caltrain from San Francisco to the Stanford stop, which is one block from the stadium. However, on the Caltrain web site it says the train will not stop here for the "Kansas" game because it is on a Friday. It will only stop at the Palo Alto station, which - I think - is about one mile from the stadium. (That distance could be wrong.)
Has anyone been to a game at Stanford and used the Caltrain, getting on/off at the Palo Alto stop? The last trains depart at 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Friday, which should be enough time after the game unless we get lost trying to find the station and are wandering around Palo Alto in the dark. Would it be easier to rent a car for the day? How bad is the parking situation around the stadium?
Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks!
