The Washington Post had a Editorial Board article on how the rhetoric and story around Planned Parenthood has gone beyond any semblance of reason or facts - that the stories told by the GOP in the debates were not actually true. It's how the right seems to work. Make up stuff that rallies the base and have it bounce around the right wing blogosphere, then it'll make ripples in the national press, then the politicians will pick it up and spout it as fact despite a clear dearth of that. If anyone questions your story, attack them and push the lies even further. Pretty effective. As the Post put it, the clear loser in the debates were "reason and facts."
