I can’t really verbalize it but in the past few days my brain has started to recoil from the whole recruiting process. An example is the Avery and Edwards recruitment. We think we have them then they’re visiting more schools. NIL is probably turning kids heads. “I think I’ll shop around and find out how much money I can get”. I get it. I’d probably do the same. If I do sign someplace and don’t feel happy, I’ll just transfer. Making a “ commitment” doesn’t mean I’m really committed. I’m committed until I’m not. I think being a coach and having to suck up to 18-22 year olds would feel slimy. And the Kansas kids….so many of them think it’s greener pastures elsewhere. Getting tired of that crap. Been a lot them who skipped town and faded into the mist. Just getting tired of the whole process. I’ve been excited about the BB recruiting but lots of misses after “great recruiting visits”. Maybe this is the new normal but I’ve had about enough. Don’t like what college sport’s has become. The rich get richer, everyone below them is desperately scratching to grab what they can. It’s all about money and the NCAA is worthless. None of that’s new but it’s getting worse fast.
