-A focused, pissed off, senior lead top 5 team threw a haymaker at us (on the road) and our young squad didn't fold like a cheap tent.
-I kind of like the demeanor of our team. Not too high, not too low. They just keep playing. Hurt, Edwards, Wade about as stoic as they come. Stokes and Wes not too far behind. Doesn't mean they don't have energy or drive.
-Love Brown. He couldn't buy a bucket early, but man he kept playing his ass off on defense (so active) and wasn't afraid to still be assertive on offense.
-Good to see Stokes keep playing hard. His shot has been horrible, but continues to do what a good PG should do. Maybe by finally hitting a couple late he'll get his shot back.
-Our frontcourt (mainly defensive and rebounding) is about as limited as I can remember. Guys, we just aren't going to win (consistently) in a league like the Big 12 with that glaring weakness. You can't sugar coat it. I guess maybe help is on the way next year? What would just a guy like Malik Harris mean to this team?
-I do love our guards, though. Irvin even played well. But Stokes and Brown....nice backcourt to build around.
-Wes can defend the backcourt, but can't play there offensively (IMHO). I guess I'd probably move him to the four and see if that can create any mismatches with his defender.
-For a 3:30 game going up directly against NFL payoffs, students gone, sure thought the crowd (attendance, not noise) was great. Was listed as a sellout.
-Just like football, lot of mutual respect (duh) between these two programs, staffs, and fans. While most head coaches are tucked away pre-game, Lon was out and about talking to K-Staters well approaching game-time. He sat besides Mike Clark and talked forever it seemed. Just odd how there's so much cross-over between staffs of both bball and fball. Kruger, Hensen, Shepard....all small town KS boys.
-Never sucks to get your picture take with Toby Keith.
