I received the following message from one of our former players asking for prayers and well wishes for Justin Montgomery, who played from 2001- 2003. See below:

Remember Heisman Trophy winner Jason White running for his life in
the 2003 title game? Yep. Me too.
One of the dudes,..... and I do mean "dudes" chasing him all night
long was none other than OUR very own DT Justin Montgomery from Smith Center.
Justin needs your help.
He needs every prayer, well wish, or whatever it is in this world that you
believe brings a healing higher power of energy that you can help provide. He
has had recent surgery to vital life sustaining structures we all take for
granted every day and is fighting hard to recover over the past week.
Please help me spread the word and shower this man with your blessings, prayers
and cards to let him know "Once
a Wildcat. ALWAYS a Wildcat".
He is in ICU right now in Wichita at Via Christi Hospital. Please take a moment
of your time and send him something to let him know you have his back. Let's
pread the word through this message board, and feel free to copy and paste if
you will to any other boards/groups you belong to as well. Let's also flood all
social media outlets to get the word out to as many people as we can. Facebook,
twitter, Instagram, etc. Copy and paste this message or compose your own.
Please do whatever you feel you can to help lift this man up and let him know
we are behind him.
