I use Yahoo as my home page, and a few minutes ago I opened up the page to access the Finance page. First thing I notice is a bold headline at the top of th national news stories blaring "Kansas State band halts song after vulgar chant breaks out" It was attributed to an article in USA Today 5 hours ago. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am fed up with the continual inability of the administration, student government or any other responsible parties to abolish this practice once and for all. I don't want to continue having to explain to friends, relatives etc. that it's just "kids being kids" as some of you are prone to do.

I have supported my school thru memberships in the Alumni Association and Ahearn Fund, as well as to the annual fund raising drives for the various departments and colleges linked to me degree. I am normally contacted by phone by current students for these drives, and I will inform the student calling that I will withhold all further contributions due to the actions of some their classmates. It seems the only thing the administration will listen to is financial pressure in lieu of definitive action on their part. I do not intend to let a minority of current students sully the fine name of an institution I have spent over half a century both attending and supporting.
