Nothing earth shattering, but some nice tidbits....and a nice break from bball threads.
Skylar Thompson is the real deal, can do it all. Oozes confidence and leadership. Great sign for KSU. Expected to red shirt.
Jimmy McKinney is a guy to watch. Type of recruit that easily could have had 20-30 offers had he not committed so early in the process.
Byron Pringle will be a big help and one of the top impact B12 newcomers next year.
Tre Jacskson - Tulane is our biggest competition for his commitment.
Breontae Mathews - nice recruiting win. Mathews' line about getting 1 year of with Snyder is better than no years with Snyder was "refreshing" to hear and should be a line used more by KSU.
Snyder's age is heavily used against him in recruiting and it's showing with this year's class. When a QB like Skylar commits early, it usually leads to more recruiting success in the same class. Since it did not is a bad sign. KSU being in too many battles with smaller schools for DL recruits is also a bad sign. Said certain KSU assistants have very little to do with recruiting, which hurts. Many schools are starting to hire extra "coaching" personnel purely for recruiting purposes. Said MU as an example has as much as 10 extra coaching staffers dedicated primarily to recruiting and have little to do with actual coaching.
Crabtree said he spoke with BV the day after their bowl game. Said BV just laughed when asked about the KSU rumors...
Crabtree didn't speculate anything, but said as a fan and Kansan, BV is his guy and is "the guy". I'll go ahead and speculate....Crabtree never said that BV denied it or said no. He just said that he's known BV for more than 20 years....and he just laughed when asked....totally my speculation there. I'm a wishful thinker.
Biggest surprise of the night came from the crowd. Pitchforks started to come out when talking about Coach Snyder's desire to continue coaching. I was shocked at what I was hearing from the crowd....most wanted to give him the boot....in a respectful way of course. It was kind of sad. Not that they're right or wrong, but that the conversation is even upon us...
