So in the midst of all this hoopla about the Big 10/SEC probably going to two super major conferences or whatever we’re going to call them is how the **** are they going to schedule this out? I think it’s reasonable to assume you’ll get pods of “rivalries” similar to what the ACC is doing where you get 3 or so teams you play yearly then it rotates but has anyone actually seen the math on this?
Meaning let’s just assume USC UCLA Oregon & Washington are all in a pod so they play each other every year taking up 3 conference games a year. And assuming they’ll play 9 conference games per team how often will they actually even play the other teams? It’s obviously a similar issue for say UT and UGA but just trying to figure the math out because my initial guess without running any numbers is they’ll probably play a team only once every about 6/7 years.
