I know people are in a really bad place about our Kansas recruiting, and it's not a debate I feel like jumping into, but holy crap has Kansas been a dead zone for us over the past decade in a half. We are averaging right around 1 of the top 5 each year, and this includes both Prince and Snyder's classes.
As interestingly, of the guys we did get, only one (Whitehair, maybe Frantz and Hubert) made a huge splash, while a only a few others (Norwood, Burton, Wood, Delton) provided much contribution at all.
Also pretty apparent in looking at the numbers is that OU and Nebraska seem to cherry pick the state's top guys almost at will, and Matt Campbell is coming in hot sniping our guys now. It seems like Kansas kids just don't much want to stay in Kansas, even during our good years (2003, 2012)
Anyway, not turning this into a argument, but I think data points are always interesting. For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind at all hitting up Iowa in a big way, start dirty recruiting up there and making Mr. Campbell a little less comfortable in his own state.
