Watched all the video I could find, here are my thoughts...
Aamaris Brown - more put together and physical than I expected, good speed, anticipates very well, seems well-coached, free safety type, capable of playing pretty early, imho
Dawson Delforge - physical, plays until whistle, almost certainly on guard 2-deep in 2020...not quick enough feet to experiment with him at OT, imho
Tee Denson - limited only by work ethic, maturity, adjustment to P5, etc...very quick, rangy, really pleased with physicality in his videos, saw him live at state championship and he was not physical, though he did look like he was wearing a wrap on one hand which may have affected him...needs to add weight/strength but looks well-coached and advanced in his game like Aameris
Kirmari Gainous - honestly, not really seeing much beyond a middling DE, more of a bull-rusher, not sudden enough to be big pass-rusher, imho...does seem pretty long for his height, though
Justin Gardner - good ball skills/instincts, but I don't see him playing CB at the B12 level...I'd expect him to be in the mix to back up McPherson and then maybe take over for him in 2021
Jay Harris - heat seeking missle #1...good sideline to sideline speed, tackles well, will be interesting to see how much weight we try to add to this kid...6-1, 230 somewhere down the line?
DeMarrquese Hayes - overlooked player #1...was never really into the recruiting spotlight, committed then was quiet...good raw athlete, will be developmental player in S&C program, but upside is large, imho
Robert Hentz - shows a VERY impressive first step on his video, expect him to be very disruptive...probably not getting as much hype as he ought to be from the KSU fan base, imho...makes guards whiff frequently
Will Howard - seems advanced for his age, great size, good arm, good mobility, not a lot of negatives with this kid, could be star if he can make the jump
Nate Matlack - heat seeking missle #2, also thrilled to see how much weight we add to this kid, just an obvious rangy athlete
Malachi Mitchell - seems like a solid, if unspectacular athlete...strikes me as a bit redundant, maybe SS instead of FS
Witt Mitchum - developmental guy who seems to have the tools to add 50 lbs and play OT for us...definitely seems to have the requisite raw talent, also plays with the kind of attitude you like to see
Christian Moore - overlooked player #2, and laughably so, imho, perhaps also very underrated, shows very impressive hands in his video even with contact (which btw, he loves contact), is literally prototypical for this system, is tough, old school, expect him to play as true FR
Keyon Mozee - speed guy, expect him to primarily be returner
Derick Newton - does not look as quick as Hentz, but very physical and plenty disruptive, bottom line is he gets off blocks and has the motor you want to see
TJ Smith - was a really good CB at high school level, but probably moves to nickel at P5...is definitely physical
Cody Stufflebean - out of our FB/HB/TE signings, Cody is the future blocking TE, imho...physical kid who bleeds purple, will do whatever he can to help the team win
Will Swanson - out of our FB/HB/TE signings, the pass-catching TE, imho
Jaelon Travis - can win one on one battles and make catches when he is well-covered...does not seem to be a great athlete, but solid
Ronald Triplette - definitely see him beefing up and playing at DT instead of DE...quick, athletic, will be good for us if he works hard and buys in
Deuce Vaughn - Mr Versatility, hard to really find a good comparison for him because he doesn't fit the typical "small back" profile, is really more like a small version of Jordan Brown...could be pretty devastating as a complimentary back in a stable of backs..really can't remember the last time I saw a "small back" who is as good of a WR as this kid, honestly would be capable of playing WR full-time if we committed him to that path, though we won't and shouldn't
Talor Warner - impressive, but going to dial down my expectations a bit...not saying he isn't really good, just saying his athleticism was really hyped and while I think he will be good, I'm not sure he is as much of a marquee signee as the board perceives him to be...I do expect him to have great attitude, also think he will wind up at DT regardless of what Klieman said
Carver Willis - good feet, knows what he's doing, figures to be a starting tackle 2-3 years into his time at KSU
Aamaris Brown - more put together and physical than I expected, good speed, anticipates very well, seems well-coached, free safety type, capable of playing pretty early, imho
