Basketball My take on Bruce and the basketball program

I'm not going to be wordy, at least that's not my intention. So hopefully this won't be long.

At KSO, we don't think it is professional to call for people's jobs, such as coaches, even if folks wish that we would. We have never thought it was the role of media to invoke their feelings into it, rather we always thought and still think it is the role of media to just report what is happening and we will stick to that mantra.

With that being said, what I will say is that it certainly feels very much like the end of Bill Snyder's tenure in Manhattan felt to me. And that's that the options are dwindling and the right decision seems clear.

The issues stem from last season being a mess with poor results that fostered a lot of attrition. And even (historically) poorer results this year that indicate the solutions and answers weren't found or weren't capable of being made. And no apparent places to point for hope that next season will provide anything significantly different.

I think those things speak for themselves and the decision-makers should be taking that well into account.

If it were to be the end, I do think Bruce Weber has earned a dignified close to this particular chapter. While the product hasn't always been the most thrilling or impressive, he lead some special seasons and has held himself with class, character and integrity, and regardless of the failures, that and his accomplishments should also be remembered and respected, in my opinion.
