It appears we have reached peak market saturation with streaming platforms. This week, Netflix announced during their earnings call that their users actually declined during the quarter for the first time in over a decade. CNN+, launched just a month or two ago, already seems to be getting cancelled?
Where's it go from here? Consolidation? Some conglomerates just giving up on this market altogether.
Feels like to me, fees for things like Hulu and YTTV will probably continue to go up, given their dominance in the traditional cable streaming model. However, the one-off platforms are going to be hard-pressed to raise their fees any time soon (Apple, Peacock, Paramount, etc).
