I asked specifically about Patton, was responded that Patton and Sullivan are going to be solid. Expected Gallon would be good, too. That's just how the response was worded, read into it what you will.
I do have reason to believe K-State feels good about Sullivan and Patton, as stated. Sullivan played a bunch this year, and Patton was taken to every game despite redshirting. You've also got a guy like Sizelove, who has played, as well as Gallon and Justin Hughes, who saw some time early.
I don't think recruiting JC LBs was as much as knock on these guys as it was wanting to aggressively pursue a couple of potential difference makers at a position where numbers are desperately needed. I would believe K-State's starting LBs would end up being fine next year, the concern is just about the depth and numbers going forward. Which they're trying to attack.
