Any experience on these? Have a 9K gas powered Dewalt I bought when we had a week long power outage after a major storm. Had to meet a buddy from St Louis halfway because everything within 250 miles was sold out in the first 18 hours. Got three offers for it on the interstate returning home lol. Was able to run fridges, freezers, fans, lighting, and recharging stations with it. Loud and quite the fuel hog. Main problem I had is that I had to drive 70 miles for gas to feed the thing since the grid was down and none of the gas pumps were operable. Have enjoyed the small hand carry Honda generators I have seen in baseball season for fans, etc.

Am getting pricing on a Kohler whole house generator 20KW+. Getting ready to cringe on the pricing. Expecting 12-13K+. There is growing stress on the power grid from the retirement of nuclear and coal power plants and increasing regulation. Looking at a natural gas unit. Started by looking at Generac but got pushed away from it by several commercial contractors. They claim if Generac is selling itself as commercial grade, then Kohler must be Industrial, based upon reliability.
