so last year I had a well put in at my pasture. We went to depth of 60'. It was mostly a screw around well for drawing water when I needed it, filling water tank for trees, nothing special. It's ran off generator.
I test pumped it in August 2014 and pumped 30 gallons a minute for 1.5 hours before shutting it down. I went back end of September 2014 and dropped a new pump in, once again test pumped it for 1.5 hours and averaged 28/30 Gpm. Didn't pump it again rest of winter. Haven't needed it since but decided to pump again late May, was going to run power to it so I could do more things with it. Ran pump, sucked it down fast, turned down shutoff but leveled out at 5 gpm. Was hoping we just needed cleaning so ran it at 5 for about a hour hoping it may loosen up. It didn't. The well produces 5 gallons per minute now. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? There are lots of springs in area, is it possible underground water coming from top of hill drys out at certain times of year? Could it be the drought, although we were knee deep in the drought when it pumped 30. I'm going to try it again next week hoping the water is back but really confused on the situation. I've never test pumped a well that was doing that good for that long and then drops 25 gpm
Over half a years time. There's no irrigation in area and barely any houses within 10 mile radious. Thoughts?
