Really enjoyed watching my 8 year old grandson's first game of "kid pitch" baseball last night; probably as much or more as he looked forward and enjoyed playing. (Only immediate household members were supposed to attend, but my peaceful protest of grandparents lives matter was allowed)
Would normally not have been so excited. That first year of "kid pitch," especially early in the season, can be a walk-a-thon that is tough to watch. But starved for sports even 8 year old "kid pitch" baseball is a thrill.
So sad that a whole generation of youth missed out on the entire spring season of sports (and we missed out on the spectating). Even sadder that their loss was intended to protect grandparents not them.
