Now let me start this off by saying that this is not intended to become a political debate, I am merely enjoying my first experience with a child in private school and wanted to discuss.

I recently sent my first child off to kindergarten...and we chose to send him to the local private school instead of the public school. (both my parents were/are public school teachers) We did this for one reason and one reason only, class size...just felt it would be better for him.

I have been completely blown away by the way this school runs, the relationship between the students (young & old), and the communication from the teachers and admin.

Things of note:

- class pic emailed out on very first day, along with a couple paragraphs about how all the kids did
- they pair little kids up with big kids so that they can show them the ropes (read to them after school, eat lunch with them, etc...)
- constant communication...we've only been in school for just shy of two weeks and I've already received 6-8 emails detailing how class is going, upcoming events, fundraiser info, etc...
- the budgeting process...went to the first PTA meeting and they put the entire budget in front of you and then you discuss. If a teacher or the school in general is in need of something, the group discusses how to appropriately pay for the item and if extra funds will need to be raised (cannot stress enough how refreshing this was)

In an effort to not get too many TLDRs, I will end this by saying that after having grown up in public school and with public school teachers for parents, I may now be Private School 4 Life.

Your experiences?

PS- (God isn't absent from the classroom either...and I dig that)
