Pronunciation Help

I don't know if others are like this, and it probably comes from being a PA announcer over the last 30 years here for a lot of my school's athletic events, and wanting, as I read names, to know exactly how they are pronounced. So, who's got the scoop on "Maligi?" Has been messing with my head for a week now.
