Good work Derek, nice read. These young coaches should bring much needed, at long last, optimism to recruiting. Also, if true we lost Honas because of Snyder's indecision....that's just horrendous.
Just a thought on the last part. Agree that Snyder may be the problem for any new recruiting energy or paradigm change....but it would be hoped that his hand may be forced a bit with the new December signing period.
KSU can no longer afford to wait until after the season to get rolling anymore, recruiting hard during the season will become mandatory. Not doing that may bring results for us that are worse than ever, with the majority of the best recruits wrapped up by the early signing date.
But this is an opportunity now for programs outside the heavyweight level to keep more commitments in the fold.....because the early signing period is at the end of the season, without the gap of another month where programs have more time and resource to flip recruits in january. We've lost a LOT in that month over the years.
At the end of the day, this early period should benefit ksu....the timing couldn't be better now with a very young, aggressive staff. But it it won't surprise me if we fail to take advantage. When it comes to football, Bill Snyder is a legend, a great head coach but also the most stubborn, set in his ways man on the planet.
Lets hope some light peeks through this time.
