I realize it’s only been 5 games and hopefully I eat my words, but man, the 3 down front is just not working imo, and given our current personnel, I’m not sure it will the rest of the year.
I don’t know how the stats show it (maybe @ksu_FAN can help) but the eye test tells me that teams have killed us in the short and intermediate passing game and the run game.
It’s just so hard to get consistent pressure on the QB when only 3 rush. And the secondary play will be talked about as a negative, but they can’t get all the blame as it’s hard to cover guys downfield for 8 seconds because we can’t get any pressure on the thrower.
All in all, I know the switch was made when the staff thought we would have complete personnel, but something needs to change, or we will continue to have a hard time stopping people.
