Some Thoughts

- We came out tight tonight. Loyola was loose. They got into a rhythm early and we were discombobulated most of the night.
- I really thought we should have force-fed Sneed more. He was 4-6 from 3, the rest of the team was 2-19. On a night when our movement on offense was awful, Sneed's length would have allowed him to continue to shoot over people and get decent looks. We tried late with him setting the high ball screens, but weren't aggressive enough getting him the ball consistently.
- BTW, something that needs put into play next season: 4 guard offense (Brown, Diarra, McGuirl, Sneed, Wade) with heavy doses of Wade AND Sneed setting the high ball screen. Really tough to defend inverted offense with both "bigs" popping for 3 and guards who are good off of the bounce taking it to the rim.
- Per above note of 2-19 from 3 (from people not named Sneed): pretty tough to win this time of year when you shoot that poorly with that kind of volume.
- It's too bad we didn't have Dean tonight, because I don't think they had anybody that could have matched up. A healthy Wade would have made a living in the 13-18 foot range and/or commanded consistent double teams.
- For us to reach our full potential next year, I think you have to find an athletic 4/5 that can come in and provide energy and rebounding for 10-15 minutes/game and push Mawien to be a more consistent player. Against a team with no size, we got 5 points and 4 rebounds in 26 minutes from the 5 spot. That can't happen.
- That was a tough game to watch and a tough way to end the year, but when I step back and consider what this team just accomplished, without Dean Wade and without any production at all from the 5 spot, I have a hard time not being proud of this team and coaching staff.
- I am pretty darn excited for next year (and very glad I snagged 4 tickets with the $99 deal)
