Butera made some bad plays Saturday night against the Red Sox, but lets not forget that Soria gave up the game tying run in the 8th. Mauer only threw a few pitches in the 7th... should have brought him back in for the 8th.
Tonight, there are at least 4 better options that Ned could have went with in the 9th (with the game tied). Loyalty to a fault. The royals made a mistake bringing Soria back to KC, just own up to it and only use Jack when the starting pitcher gets knocked out early.
