I'm not trying to take anything away from McCaffrey (yes I am), because he's obviously a stud. Here is how the Pac 12 rush d's ranked nationally at the end of last season. Only Pac 12 teams on Standford's 2015 schedule are listed:

KSU's 2015 rush D, at 63rd, was far better than the majority of patty-cake rush defenses played by Standford in the Pac 12, the majority of which could not crack the top 90.
In the Rose Bowl, McCaffrey runned all over Iowa, which had a rush d ranked 15th. But let's not let that ruin the vibe, as Standford went into the game hot as hell and Iowa just had there undefeated season ruined by MSU- a hard beat to recover from.
I don't know what our rush defense will do right out of the gate, but they should be able to do some business against an untested OL.
