Huge controversy at the 5A State softball game semi-final. Yesterday, Andover (10-12 record) beat Bishop Carroll who had won the last 5 state championships and 77 straight games. Last year BC wasconsidered the national HS champion. This was one of the greatest upsets of all time. Today Andover was trailing 3-2 after 6 innings but scored twice in the top of the 7th to take a 4-3 lead but then the rains came. Since they were not able to complete the inning, the score reverted back to the end of the 6th and Andovers runs in the 7th don't count and they lose the game. This is the correct interpretation according to the national rules, but it seems like at the state level they could continue the game tomorrow and finish it.
