So question for any lawyer types (or others who might know)
On Saturday when I was going to the game I had a large cooler with about 5 30 packs of beer in it in the bed of my truck. Right after I pulled in the parking lot I was flagged over by the police officer and told that I need to move over. At that point he told me to exit my vehicle and made me open all of my coolers and toolbox. He then informed me that I was only permitted one gallon of alcohol per person in my truck. So despite having 3 more trucks right in line with mine that I could have transferred beer into or had guys pile into mine he made me turn and leave right then and there.
So I have 2 questions, first, did he have a right to search my vehicle (should be noted, I was told comply or have my license taken). I didn't quite understand that, but being on K-State property i might have given up that right.
Second is this a new policy?
