Thomas Houchin played at K-State quite a while before my fanhood began, so I don't really remember him.
A paper from a rural county here in DFW just posted these phone recordings between him and the Decatur ISD superintendent while Houchin was the school board president.

Long story short: Houchin wanted to fire the town's successful HFC and told the Superintendent that he would do anything in his power to get rid of him...with his plan being to replace him with Briles...using Phil Bennett as leverage to get it done.
He was successful with getting rid of the coach, but did not get Briles. What an ass.
