Happy for Brad and will not get bent out of shape over this. Knew Brad in college. He and Fitz are 2 years behind me. Good guy.
A key for Brad now is putting together right staff. I don't believe his SFA staff will help him in Big 12. He knows that. A recruiter will be key.
I don't think Brad is KSU biggest problem. I believe some day he will return as coach, just not in near future.
KSU biggest concern and so should be Tubby and Brad is the addition of Jamie Dixon. He is a Texan and will be VERY successful down at TCU to the dislike of Tubby, Shaka and Scott. Also Iowa State coach will be concern now too.
The Big 12 just got better. I am not going to say Brad will be off the charts, not with Self, Kruger, Huggy Bear in conference. And lets not ignore Tubby and oh, Dixon, who will be a thorn in everyone's side. Not going to say KSU will suck either. Don't know. Time will tell. But the job got harder and we have to live with it. But we do return 4 starters and Sneed and Diarra are on the way.
But as for Brad, congrats.
But good luck trying to deal with Self, Kruger, Huggie Bear, Dixon and Shaka 2 times a year. And yes, like Weber did with Kruger, I believe he is 6-1 against Lon, Brad will likely split with Bruce. I know it is hard to believe, but Kruger show us that the last 4 years!!!
I'm going to say this right now, Self and his returnees along with a few others, Huggie being one, are going to give Brad a nice welcome as a head coach. I highly recommend Brad find a hellavu recruiter soon. And with Dixon on board, yikes. That might be a nice welcome too.
Not saying Brad won't have success. He will. But not the success some say he will in this conference. Not with above coaches mentioned. But he'll be good for time at Oklahoma State.
And one other thing, like Okie State fans do when they beat a fellow alum, Bill Self, when we beat Brad, why not do the same. Remember, Okie State still hasn't forgiven Self and they asked him numerous times!!!
