In week 2, K-State will host Top 20 Mississippi State.
Bottom line, Mississippi State is a MONSTER game for K-State.
Win and the CATS will receive a huge boost of confidence (you can’t coach confidence).
Lose and the CATS will have 2 weeks to re-group before the start of Big 12 play (UTSA = week 3).

In week 4, K-State will kick-off the Big 12 season in hostile territory at West Virginia.

IMO, WV and OU are the front runners to win the Big 12 (with K-State at #3).
TCU has 13 starters to replace (including their QB).
Okie State has 11 starters to replace (including their QB).
Texas is a wildcard, don’t know what to think about the horns.

“IF” K-State begins the season 4 & 0 >>> the possibility of running the table >> playing in the Big 12 title game >> a potential playoff spot, becomes real.

Now before you start telling me how delusional that I am… I said “IF”.
Again, “IF”, K-State can begin the season 4 & 0, look at the remaining schedule.

Biggest remaining hurdle = Oklahoma.
OU plays TCU on the road the week before hosting K-State (that’s never fun).
K-State has a bye week before traveling to OU.
I assume OU's QB will be good, but you never know.
Heck, K-State gave OU all they wanted last year with a BAD pass defense and a predictable O-coordinator (who did not adjust to OU's half-time adjustments on defense).

Probably the second toughest game after week 4, will be TCU.
Unfortunately, K-State has back-to-back road games at OU and then at TCU.
TCU plays at ku the week before facing K-State, at least it’s a road game..ha.
Again, TCU has 13 starters to replace including their QB & 3 O-lineman.

K-State has Texas & Okie State at home.
Iowa State has 11 starters to replace (and an over-rated QB = IMO).

I’m not predicting that K-State is going to run the table and make it to the college football play-off. I’m just saying “IF” the CATS find a way to win their first 4 games, well, you just never know.

4 & 0 = ???

3 & 1 = 9 or 10 wins (regular season)
2 & 2 = 7 or 8 wins

GO STATE !!
