Varney's Closing Is a Sad Reflection of Society

Retail around the country is struggling because of different times. Over the years going into Varney's and checking out all the K-State items, especially on game day or game weekends was a lot of fun, especially talking to people and having that purple connection, that will be missed!!!! Retail stores are hurting all over because people, especially young people order on line and have Amazon ship. The world is changing and becoming every day less and less personal and that in my eyes doesn't make it a better place. Now instead of talking to somebody, customer will hit button on phone and order. Many good traditions will be missed, newer technology is not always better!!!!!!!!!!
