The school pres, the Ath Dir and several prominent donors all agreed on Leavitt, worked out a plan with Leavitt, and then asked for Bill's input. Bill declined.
Ok. Bill doesn't have the authority to stop it from happening... If all of the decision makers are in agreement, why didn't they do it? Bill's contract gives him the right to share his input, but it does not give him anything more than that. He can only provide input.
And if he doesn't like it, who is he going to complain to? His boss? His boss's boss? The big donors that helped build hundreds of millions of dollars of facilities for the Ath Dept? They were all already onboard.
So why didn't they just do it????
The end of the GOR and TV contract is quickly approaching, which means the Big 12's day of reckoning is quickly approaching. We MUST be in as strong of a position as possible when that day comes. The negative repercussions of their failure to act is going to haunt K-State for years to come. It may even have been the death blow to the program.
