We hear this kind of apology time and time again from young athletes. Stealing isn't "stupid." They didn't make a "mistake." What they did was wrong, immoral, bad, unethical, depraved, unscrupulous, wrong, etc. but we hear time and time again the minimization of wrong actions by admitting to just being "stupid."
Sorry for the rant but I it's hard for me to imagine that any of these UCLA players are really remorseful for what they did and what's worse they don't seem to understand why what they did was wrong.
