Why is it so hard for Weber to show any accountability (longer than I wanted)

Just read Kellis' article and did not see one time there where Weber took any real responsibility for last year. Not a "I need to do better", not even a "my bad". That really concerns me. From what I read, he had players that didn't want to buy in, so they're gone. End of story. Moving on. Nothing more I can do.

I understand that the former players had a lot of self inflicted wounds and that they're primarily accountable for their actions, but Holy Lord, isn't Weber accountable for the program as a whole? The way he tried to handle the situation failed...he should be able to express he knows this and take ownership of it.

One quote in particular struck me in that article:
1. "Two years ago, when we had all those young freshman in here, I don't think any of you thought a couple of them would step up like they did"

Any of who? KSU fans? OF COURSE WE HOPE THEY STEP UP!! OF COURSE A LOT OF US LIKE THEIR POTENTIAL! My daughter used to like a movie called Matilda, and one of the memorable lines was "I'm right you're wrong, I'm big you're little, I'm smart you're dumb!". Let's just say he reminded me of Matilda's dad.

Is it so horrible to admit you failed as well last year, Coach? Would it kill you to take ownership of that turd sandwich of a season? Do you think it makes you appear weak, or do you truly believe it wasn't you? One paragraph, something like...

"Last season was a step back for our program, and as the head coach I take full responsibility. I want to assure K-Staters everywhere we have taken steps to ensure our future success. We are excited about our players and the direction of our program, and can't wait to start next season in front of the best fans in the nation. EMAW!"

Yes, it's crappy, but just something that says those basic things...I'm the coach, I own the stinkbomb, I'm working to fix it, can't wait to get going again! Is it so wrong to expect that from your coach? I don't think so.

I'll admit I didn't like the hire, but I want him to succeed. I'd happily eat a big turd burger if he turns this around with all these new players. I just don't have any faith he can.http://www.kansas.com/sports/colleg...ticle19275699.html#/tabPane=tabs-b0710947-1-1
