Some well intentioned, newly elected congressmen come to DC with the idea they can make a difference and in a very few cases, have a goal to have the government operate more within the constraints of the Constitution.
But no, we have our sacred political parties as if there are only two solutions to any given situation.
The new congressmen, wet behind the ears, are pulled "behind closed doors" and told, in no uncertain terms, by the likes of Paul Ryan or Nancy Pelosi, how the world really works. You go along with the party line and the party leadership or you have no bills entered on the floor or you are assigned obscure committee assignments. Of course, if you get "way off the plantation," you are blackmailed by photographs in compromising positions, or family threatened and in some few cases, "extreme prejudice" is exacted.
Being the game it is, they are pretty adept at making it appear there is real opposition in D.C, which by the it was incorporated in 1871 as UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The rest of us are United States of America, not a corporation. This is a very big story unknown. None dare call call it conspiracy.
This is the very, very underbelly and in my view, to think otherwise, is very wishful thinking. Wish it weren't so.
