trump's witch hunt

Snippet from KC Star:

For the past two years, a former intelligence analyst in the FBI’s Kansas City Division has been at the center of a federal criminal case involving allegations of hoarding classified documents. A federal grand jury indicted the analyst, Dodge City resident Kendra Kingsbury, in May 2021, accusing her of two counts of violating 18 U.S.C. § 793(e) — the same Espionage Act charge Trump faces. Kingsbury, whose case is in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, is set to be sentenced next week in Kansas City after pleading guilty to both counts in October. She will potentially be the first defendant sentenced for violating the law against willful retention of national defense information since Trump’s indictment.

So trump is singled out and persecuted? Methinks not!

Pence lacks comprehension

"Stop hiding behind the Special Counsel and stand before the American people and explain why this indictment went forward," Pence told a convention of the North Carolina Republican Party.

When he left the White House in 2021, Trump took boxes of sensitive documents with him to Mar-a-Lago, his South Florida golf resort and residence. Those documents should have been turned over to the National Archives.

Trump’s seeming inability or refusal to grasp the necessity of protecting classified information is at the heart of Smith’s case, as the indictment makes clear:

“The classified documents TRUMP stored in his boxes included information regarding defense and weapons capabilities of both the United States and foreign countries; United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack.

“The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States, foreign relations, the safety of the United States military, and human sources and the continued viability of sensitive intelligence collection methods,” it continued.

Looks to me that about "splains it.

The apple from the trump tree

Donald Trump Jr. made an unfortunate mix-up on his online show, Triggered With Don Jr., on Thursday, accidentally swapping his father’s name with that of his 2024 opponent, Ron DeSantis. The gaffe came during a rant about the Florida governor’s “DeSaster” Twitter Spaces campaign launch. Don Jr. took aim at DeSantis for “basically reading, like, an op-ed what he was going to do.” But just minutes into his speech declaring Desantis “failure to launch,” Trump Jr. appeared to mix up his own words: “Once you actually put out the facts I think a different image is going to emerge... Trump has the charisma of a mortician, and the energy that makes Jeb Bush look an Olympian.” Trump Jr. pauses for a moment after the mix-up, but continues on, later claiming DeSantis is a flip-flopper who continues to dodge questions surrounding his stance on Ukraine.
