the rushing attack stats have bothered me lately... they look very pretty, but they don't make sense.. we should be scoring way more points with these running stats... maybe i found it..
K-State has only had 6 total 3rd downs where we had 1-3 yards to get
we've run 5 times, picked up 4 firsts down.. .threw 1 and got 1 as well
it's a good percentage... but the interesting thing is how few 3rd and shorts we have
with us at 4 games already, if we extrapolate to 13 games, that's 16.25 and 3.25
2014 - in 13 games, we had 43 rushes in those situations.. and 14 more passes
2015 - 37 and 11
2014 - 33 and 16
2012 - 38 and 11
i have to think this is somewhat of a coaching issue that we don't seem to be getting to a lot of 3rd and shorts... which is the whole point of having a qb-based run system
even the 1st down run numbers look ok in general.... sadly, i don't have how far runs went on 1st down, because i suspect it's all or nothing, which puts us behind the chains..
