The way Snyder has structured it historically (which has also become very common all throughout college football), is two co-offensive coordinators, one who is a running game coordinator, and one who is a passing game coordinator. Sometimes both will have a co-coordinator title, and sometimes one will have a full offensive coordinator title and the other will have co-coordinator title, usually the distinction is money and/or seniority, but means little in practice.

If we wind up with Klein and Coleman as co-coordinators, it seems highly probable that Klein would be the running game coordinator and Coleman would be the passing game coordinator. I think it also quite possible that Klein is made a co-coordinator with an outside hire, and again, Klein is running game coordinator while the outside hire is passing game coordinator. Where we're lacking is in the passing game. Del Miller was a huge loss there.

If we hire someone from the outside, here are some names I'll throw out (saw Hall already mentioned Graham Harrell):

Rod Smith, University of Arizona
Mick McCall, Northwestern
Brad Cornelsen, Virginia Tech
George McDonald, NCSU
Darrell Dickey, Memphis

I thank Dimel for his contributions to KSU. He struggled the last few years, but he's a great K-Stater and I wish him the best at UTEP.

I'm very encouraged by the talk of defensive staff changes. Not to be harsh, but I've really never been a fan of Tom Hayes. Even with some of our best teams during Snyder 2.0, we've never had anything close to a great defense, imho. There were 2 or 3 seasons where we had pretty good defensive stats, but even in those years, it seemed more the result of ball control offense than great defense.
