I didnt hear the radio interview, but I saw the thread where @FITZ and Clinkscales were comparing K-State football circa 1989 to KU football when Beaty walked into Lawrence. I don't know the details of that conversation but I wanted to throw around some numbers, in addition to my running tally of KU football futility.

K-State football was REALLY bad when Bill Snyder took over. Decades upon decades of losing, and losing at an impressive clip. In fact, before defeated North Texas in Coach Snyder's first season (1989) the Wildcats had lost 14 straight football games, and hadn't won a football game in the previous 28 attempts. In this stretch, K-State lost 7 straight conference games from the time they beat KU in 1986 and tied KU in the 1987 "Toilet Bowl".....another 20 consecutive conference losses from that 87' Sunflower tie until the next Big 8 victory. K-State didn't win a Big 8 game from 1986 through 1990....between that 86' victory over KU and the 1990 win over Oklahoma State. From 1985 through 1991, K-State lost 22 consecutive conference road games.....30 consecutive road games when accounting for non-con road losses.

Obviously, it's very hard to compare era's....one era only had 11 total games per season, allowed regulation ties, and only had 7 conference games annually, 3-4 on the road every year. KU would've had a tie against Baylor, and a tie against Tech in Lubbock during their recent skid, under the old format. That being said, here are their numbers. From 2010-2013, KU lost 27 straight conference football games, just a few games shy of Baylor's conference record. The Jayhawks tallied 15 straight total losses from 2014 through 2015. To date, going back to 2008, KU has lost 36 consecutive conference road games....spanning more than 8 seasons. The Hawks also boast an impressive 43 game road losing streak (counting non-cons) dating back to 2009.
