We had COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE GAME in the 4th quarter, had all of the momentum, driving the ball on a potentially game winning scoring drive.
Barnes appears to have the first down on a second down run. To not challenge the spot or ask for a measurement in that situation is a complete coaching failure.
And to then, take the hyper-conservative route (which has cost us time and time again in big games), and not go for it on 4th and one and instead punt the ball and place the game into your defense's hands was a game deciding decision.
We can criticize the player's inability to close out games until we are blue in the face.
This was complete coaching malfeasance and there needs to be accountability. And this chickenshit response of "needing to go watch the game tape" while the kids get rolled out to face the music isn't the answer.
