Watched him play last fall in a rain soaked game at Piper and was immediately struck by his athletic ability. While he was an electric dual threat QB, it was his assets as a DB that will be utilized at the next level. He looked smooth at cornerback and the reaction and timing appeared natural. He also showed great leadership from what I saw from the sidelines. Atchison was favored to win that game but even when Piper pulled away, it was Gill in the secondary barking at players to push harder and keep fighting.
I think this is a nice in-state, under the radar get by Snyder's staff, and I applaud their recognition of Gill's potential.
